Website redesign
Simon BV
CLIENT - ASSIGNMENT - GOAL
This project was for Simon BV, a plumbing company that has been active in the region for many years. Their existing website was outdated and no longer reflected the level of professionalism the company had since established.asfsdf
The assignment was to create a complete redesign of the website. The goal was to modernize the site visually, align it with current web design trends, and at the same time convey a trustworthy and professional impression to (potential) clients.
Simon BV wanted not only to stand out from competitors but also to show that they are keeping up with the trends, both in their services and in their digital presence.
CHALLENGES - MY ROLE - PROCESS
The biggest challenge lay in the large amount of content. The site included extensive information about services, certifications, methods of working, and contact options. Everything had to be presented in a clear, user-friendly, and scannable way, without compromising on content or appearance.
In my role as web designer, I was given the freedom to develop an entirely new layout. I started with a benchmark of competitor websites, analyzed how they structured their content, and looked into current web design trends in UX and visual hierarchy.
I then created a design that struck a good balance between text and imagery, with clear sections, strong call-to-actions, and a calm yet professional look and feel. Everything was built with the end user in mind: being able to quickly find what they’re looking for, while instantly gaining trust in the company.
RESULTS - IMPACT - REFLECTION
The final result was a sleek, modern website with a clear information structure and a calm visual presence. The client was immediately enthusiastic about the design, which was then implemented one-to-one on the live website.
The revamped site was well received by customers and visibly elevated the company’s image. The client mentioned receiving more compliments on their online presence and noticed that people were reaching out through the website more easily.
What I especially take away from this project is how important it is to make complex content simple and inviting, without losing its essence. Combining user-friendliness with a fitting visual identity is something I find very rewarding, and something I look back on with pride in this project.
