CLIENT - ASSIGNMENT - GOAL
For this case, I worked on a project for Odido, a leading and well-known telecom provider. They approached our team with a request to redesign a specific, yet important component of their email communication: the banner for their newsletter section ‘Viewing Tips’.
The concrete assignment was to redesign this banner. The existing design no longer aligned with Odido’s updated brand identity, and its visual appearance didn’t match the rest of their communication. They asked me to deliver multiple creative concepts from which they could choose.
The main objective was to increase click-through rates on this section while also creating a design that aligned seamlessly with the new brand identity. It needed to be instantly recognizable, while also encouraging engagement.
CHALLENGES - MY ROLE - PROCESS
The biggest challenge in this project was the limited time frame. Within a short period, I had to create a strong visual design, while also providing enough variation for the client to choose from. At the same time, the design had to fit in with a well-defined and fairly strict brand style.
In this project, I was responsible as the visual designer. My task was to independently develop several fresh and creative concepts. Throughout the process, I kept the client’s goals in mind: visual appeal and brand consistency.
I started by analyzing previous versions of the banner to understand what worked and what didn’t. Then I gathered visual inspiration online, looking at similar formats. Based on that, I created several concepts, all within Odido’s brand guidelines. These concepts were then shared with the team and the client.
RESULTS - IMPACT - REFLECTION
The client was very enthusiastic about the proposed concepts and almost immediately selected a favorite. The chosen design was implemented in the newsletter without any further adjustments.
The results were clear: the newsletter with the new banner generated noticeably more clicks than previous editions. In addition, we received positive feedback from the client as well as internally, confirming that the new design resonated well.
Looking back, I’m proud of this project. Despite the time pressure, I was able to deliver something that was not only creative and on-brand, but also had a direct impact on the user experience. Designing something for a major client like Odido that resulted in measurable success was a valuable experience for me.
