Onepager design
Gijs van Wulfen
CLIENT - ASSIGNMENT - GOAL
For this case, I worked with Gijs van Wulfen, a well-known international speaker, innovation expert, and bestselling author. He helps organizations generate new ideas and guide them through innovation processes. The assignment was to design a one-page landing page to promote his latest book 'Innovate Yourself'.
The landing page was intended to serve as a central point of communication, where visitors could quickly understand the book’s content, see its added value, and easily place an order. The design had to match his professional brand identity while remaining accessible to a broad audience.
The main objective of the project was to create a visually strong and user-friendly one-pager that would boost conversions, whether that meant increasing book sales, newsletter sign ups, or general visibility of his brand as a speaker and author.
CHALLENGES - MY ROLE - PROCESS
The biggest challenge in this project was merging the visual identity of his existing brand with the new book’s unique design style. Each had its own tone and look, and it was up to me to blend these cohesively within the structure of a single one-pager. The page also had to communicate information without becoming visually overwhelming.
As a web designer, I began by analyzing his current website to understand the structure, tone of voice, and layout conventions he already used. I also studied the visual identity of the new book to extract elements I could incorporate into the landing page. Based on these insights, I created wireframes and discussed them in multiple iterations with a senior designer.
After collecting feedback, I translated the structure into a high-definition visual design. I paid special attention to hierarchy, typography, and clear call-to-actions to guide the user through the content. The final layout aligned with Gijs van Wulfen’s personal brand and effectively targeted the book’s intended audience.
RESULTS - IMPACT - REFLECTION
The final result was a stylish and well-structured one-pager that clearly communicated the essence of the book without distraction. The page featured compelling visuals, standout quotes, and intuitive navigation elements such as purchase buttons and contact links.
The client was highly enthusiastic about the outcome. Gijs expressed that the page fit his personal brand perfectly and served as a strong promotional asset during his launch campaign. It was widely shared through newsletters and social media and contributed significantly to the book’s visibility and reach.
From this project, I learned how to strike the right balance between a product’s visual style and a client’s personal branding. I also gained valuable experience in structuring information efficiently within the constraints of a one-pager, maintaining clarity, visual appeal, and a focus on conversion.
